Synthesis of some aliphatic β‐amino‐dicarboxylic acids

Abstract

Abstract Three β‐amino‐dicarboxylic acids were prepared by reduction of the corresponding ethyl β‐oxo‐dicarboxylate acetylhydrazones. The melting point and the tuberculostatic activity of β‐amino‐pimelic acid are not in accordance with the data found by Romeo for a compound obtained by hydrogenation of p‐amino‐salicylic acid, which seemed to be β‐amino‐pimelic acid.
