Atom interferometric navigation sensors

Abstract

Gyroscopes and accelerometers based on atom interferometry have demonstrated superb noise, bias and scale factor figures of merit in laboratory instruments. This paper will review basic physical principles motivating these characteristics, and summarize efforts to realize fieldable prototype instruments.
