Abstract

We report on pulse energy scaling of a thulium fiber laser mode-locked by nonlinear polarization evolution. By adding a semiconductor saturable absorber to the resonator the pulse energy could be significantly increased. Implementation of normal dispersion fiber led to shorter pulses.
