Superconductive FIR detectors

Kenneth Rose

Year: 1980 Journal:   IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices Vol: 27 (1)Pages: 118-125   Publisher: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers

Abstract

The performance of superconductors as FIR detectors is reviewed. Particular attention is focussed on superconductive bolometers and Josephson-junction direct detectors. Key characteristics of these devices are discussed, observations or estimates of performance are noted, fundamental limitations are assessed, and directions for further work are suggested.
