Abstract

A minislotted packet reservation multiple access (PRMA) protocol is proposed in response to the disadvantage of PRMA wherein an entire slot is wasted in the event of a collision. The proposed protocol is shown to yield improvements over PRMA at the expense of introducing small amounts of additional clipping in some talkspurts.
