Abstract

As we begin the twentieth year of STEM CELLS ® , we express our gratitude to the Journal's Founding Fathers, the Comité des Sages Advisory Board, and to our editorial board members who have, over the past 19 years, encouraged and peer-reviewed original articles and concise reviews describing basic laboratory investigations of hematopoietic stem cells and their translation from the bench to patient care. This past year STEM CELLS began the "trans differentiation" or "de-differentiation" from our traditional strength in hematopoiesis by broadening our scope to include stem cells of all cell lineages.
