Electrically tunable handset antenna

Abstract

Tunable antenna techniques for Cognitive Radio applications are getting more and more attention in portable device antenna designs. One of the most difficult applications is the integration of a DVB-H antenna into a mobile telephone terminal for television reception. This paper presents designs for tunable mobile phone antennas which cover the DVB-H band of 470-702 MHz and the mobile telephone bands from 820-960 MHz and 1710-2200 MHz.
