Radar cross-section calculation for unmanned aerial vehicle

Abstract

The radar cross-section (RCS) calculation method for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is considered. UAV configuration supposes the presence of internal perfectly electrically conducting (PEC) elements under dielectric envelope. Also UAV can include external PEC elements and fully dielectric elements. The simulation of RCS for UAV model has been carried out. It is shown that main contribution to UAVs' RCS is brought by PEC elements placed inside dielectric envelope and outside it. Also contribution of dielectric envelope and dielectric elements has been estimated.
