Abstract

Giant magnetoresistance has been evidenced for the series of polycrystalline materials, Pr0.75–xLaxSr0.25MnO3–δ, with (R0–RH)/R0 values reaching 90% for Pr0.75Sr0.25MnO3–δ. The Curie temperature of these ferromagnetic compounds decreases continuously when the praseodymium content increases from 360 to 220 K. The relation between Tc and the volume of the perovskite subcell is demonstrated.
