Small circularly polarised printed antenna

Abstract

A compact circularly polarised printed antenna is presented. The antenna consists of a synchronous subarray of shorted patches with the required feed network etched on a high dielectric constant substrate located below the ground-plane of the antenna. The 10 dB return loss and the 3 dB axial ratio bandwidths are 8.5 and 11.3%, respectively. The overall size of the proposed antenna is 0.195λ0 × 0.195λ0 × 0.052λ0.
