Novel physical impairments aware adaptive weight function for routing in all optical networks

Abstract

We propose a novel and fast physical impairment aware adaptative cost function. The main advantage of this approach is that it uses simple network parameters such as link availability and route length, instead of complex optical noise based weight functions. Amplifier gain and ASE saturations and OXC crosstalk were considered. We present simulation results for the network performance for our proposed routing scheme and for other ones. We compare the computation time of different routing schemes.
