Abstract

Two isostructural compounds, [Co(pam)(bpe)(H2O)2]n (1) and [Mn(pam)(bpe)(H2O)2]n (2) (H2pam = pamoic acid, bpe = 1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethane), have been solvothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, and powder X-ray diffraction. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that 1 and 2 are isostructural and feature a threefold interpenetrated cds topological framework. Magnetic investigations reveal that both 1 and 2 exhibit antiferromagnetic properties.
