Abstract

ABSTRACT Likelihood equations for optical signal with the shot noise and background noise were obtained. Computer simulation ofits solution was performed for Gaussian pulse as for an example. Keywords: Maximum likelihood estimation, optical signals, computer simulation. 1. INTRODUCTION Development of optical communication laser location and optical measuring instruments requires the elaboration ofmethods and algorithms of optimal precision for estimating the optical signal parameters. Though this field of science iswell studied applied to radio communication and radiolocation, the basic results have obtained in case ofthe signal and noise statistically independence. The optical signal receiving (photodetection) fundamentally differs for its determinative, which is shot noise, with its statistics associated with instantaneous value of the optical signal intensity. This peculiarity of photodetection doesn't allow to use all varied stock of methods and means of optimal signal receiving, and requires the development of new adequate algorithms for optical signal parameters optimal estimation,
