Carbon nanotube coatings and their electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness

Abstract

Two carbon nanotubes (CNTs) coatings and their electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (SE) have been investigated. The CNTs coatings with aspect ratio of 500, 500-1000 are added into coatings as fillers. The SE of two types of coatings containing 8-10% CNTs with thickness 0.7 mm coating is up to 16.5 dB, indicating CNTs coating could be a promising material as electromagnetic shielding materials for industrial applications. The structure and usage of CNTs, the thickness of coatings, SE measurement results are presented and discussed.
