Correspondence on Fortran standardization

Abstract

A letter by Howard Kaikow on Fortran standards for the order of evaluation of expressions appeared in the preceeding issue of this Newsletter. Mr. Kaikow had written a similar letter, in April, 1974, to Frank Engel, Jr. who is the chairman of the ANSI X3J3 Fortran Committee. Mr. Engel has kindly given permissio for the Newsleter to publish a copy of the response letter which he wrote to Mr. Kaikow in May, 1974.
