Integrated bistable optical device using mach-zehnder interferometric optical waveguide

Abstract

An integrated mirrorless bistable optical device based on the Mach-Zehnder interferometric optical switch has been proposed and demonstrated experimentally using a Ti: LiNbO3 waveguide. The resulting device is capable of combining more than two of them to realise multifunctional optical devices such as optical multivibrators.
