Zinc sulphate decomposes upon melting. Molten Li 2 SO 4 -ZnSO 4 and Na 2 SO 4 -ZnSO 4 are thermally stable with up to 80 mole% of ZnSO 4 . We have measured the density and electrical conductivity of these melts. By extrapolation we have calculated the density (ϱ) and molar electrical conductivity (Λ) of pure molten zinc sulphate and we have obtained (t in °C) ϱZnSO 4 = 3.463 - 0.470 x 10 -3 t (g/cm 3 ), ΛZnSO 4 = 0.0950 t-35.4 (cm 2 /ohm, mole).
