Dynamic behavior of correlated nanodomains in K 1 − x Li x TaO 3 , x =0.011

Abstract

Temporal relaxation of the field-induced remanent polarization has been measured on K0.989Li0.011TaO3 at temperatures between 19.1 and 50.2 K. It is described in terms of Chamberlin's theory of dynamically correlated domains. Activated dynamics with correlation coefficients C > 0 outside the freezing region, T > 34 K and T < 30 K, is traced back to activated cluster and domain wall dynamics, respectively. Non-activated dynamics within 30 < T < 34 K hints at late-stage wall relaxation of percolating polar clusters in the vicinity of the glass transition, Tg ≈ 34 K.
