Bandwidth enhancement of U-slot microstrip antenna using a rectangular stacked patch

Abstract

Experimental and simulation results of a coaxially fed U-slot microstrip antenna stacked with a rectangular patch are presented. Results include impedance bandwidth, copolar and cross-polar radiation patterns, and gain. The antenna impedance bandwidth is about 44.7%, with a slightly smaller 3 dB gain bandwidth. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 21: 393–395, 1999.
