Experimental Study on the Nonlinear Vibration Response of Cone-Shaped Spring Isolator

Abstract

The nonlinear vibration responses of cone-shaped spring isolator system were studied experimentally in this paper. Firstly, the experimental platform was designed and the response of the system under different excitation parameters was researched. The period-2 and period-3 behaviour were observed. When the parameters are in the special range, system exhibits transient chaos behaviour. The phase space attractor was reconstructed with the nonlinear time series analysis method. The Lyapunov exponent was calculated on the basis of reconstruction. The strange non-chaos phenomenon was observed in experiment. Finally, the prediction algorithm was applied to the different signals. This conclusion can be used to identify chaos in experimental flowchart as well.
