Spectroscopy and Electrochemistry of Cobalt(Iii) Salophen Complexes

Abstract

Novel Co(III) complexes with general formula, [Co(chel)(PBu 3 )]ClO 4 .H 2 O, where chel = 5-Brsalophen, 5-NO 2 salophen, 5-MeOsalophen and 4-MeOsalophen, were synthesised and characterised. The spectroscopic and electrochemical properties of these complexes and [Co(salophen)(PR 3 )]ClO 4 .H 2 O (R = PBu 3 and PPh 3 ) complexes were investigated.
