Use of Sludge for Removal of Heavy Metals from Wastewater

Abstract

Abstract In this paper sludge biomass is used for removal of heavy metals such as Cu, Cd, Pb, and Zn from wastewater and this was introduced in order to develop a comprehensive technique that remove or reduce heavy metal concentration to an acceptable level. Also SEM was used to explore the surface of the sludge and ensure the availability of microorganisms or pores, which may add additional advantages for retention of heavy metals.
