Joint channel and power allocation for cognitive radio

Abstract

Cognitive radio is a new technology, which has received increasing interest in an attempt to alleviate the spectrum scarcity issue. In this paper, we propose a new metric indicating user satisfaction function, which takes transmission rate, transmission power and perception contribution into account. And use it as the utility function, joint channel and power allocation algorithms are designed by matching game between cognitive users and channel. Simulation results show that the low complexity algorithm can achieve a fair and effective allocation of spectrum in lower power consumption to maximum the user satisfaction.
