Performance analysis of selection decode-and-forward relay networks in generalized fading channels

Abstract

In this paper, we analyze the performance of single relay selection cooperative wireless networks using decode-and-forward relaying. Under optimum relay selection, the uniform expressions for exact and asymptotic outage probability, average symbol error probability are derived in generalized fading channels. Then we improve the performance of the system through optimum power allocation based on asymptotic outage probability and asymptotic average symbol error probability. Our results are verified through comparison with Monte Carlo simulations.
