Abstract

The heterodimetallic complex [(η5-C5H5)MoMn(µ-H)(µ-PPh2)(CO)6], the structure of which has been established by X-ray analysis, reacts with dienes and with acetylene under photolysis; two of the products, [(η5-C5H5(MoMn{µ–σ : η3-CH2C(Me)CHMe}(µ-PPh2)(CO)4] and [(η5-C5H5)MoMn{µ–σ : η4-CHCHCH2CHPPh2}(CO)4] have been characterised by X-ray analysis and show unusual bonding modes for the organic ligands.
