Abstract

C 12 H 14 GdN 3 O 10 ,monoclinic, P12 1 /c1(no.14), a =9.3141(3)Å, b =7.6933(2) Å, c =23.5516(6) Å, b =91.090(1)°,V =1687.3Å 3 , Z =4,Rgt(F) =0.019, wR ref(F 2 ) =0.048, T =296 K. Source of material 2-Pyridinecarboxylic acid (1 mmol, 0.1231 g) was dissolved in 15 ml 95 %ethanol.To this solution, Gd(NO 3 ) 3 •6H 2 O(0.5 mmol, 0.2257 g) was added and refluxed at 333 Kf or 0.5 hour.Then 0.027 ml (0.25 mmol) diethylenetriamine was added under continuous stirring.The resulting suspension was added dropwise 0.01 mol • l -1 HNO 3 until pellucid.The mixture was refluxed at 348 Kfor 12 hours with stirring, then cooled.After filtration, the filtrate was left to stand at room temperature.Slow evaporation afforded pink block-like crystals.
