In this paper a novel multiple gain switched capacitor (SC) DC-DC converter circuit with eleven switches and two flying capacitors along with a filter capacitor is presented. This converter is capable of powering electronic devices at different voltages in the buck or boost mode. Since proposed SC topology is inductorless, these converters can achieve multiple gains either in buck or boost mode at the output, with lower hardware cost, compact in size, light weight and less magnetic flux interaction. After a brief introduction about SC converter the operating principle and mathematical formulation of the proposed converter circuit is discussed in detail for each operating modes. PSIM simulation has been carried out to validate the design. An experimental laboratory prototype is implemented for verification of the circuit withsimple available transistor as switches and an astable multivibrator is used to produce the triggering pulses for controlling the switches. Simulation and experimental results concur for the converter working from a 12V dc input giving output options of 4V, 6V, 8V in the buck mode, 12V in the unity gain mode and 18V in the boost mode.
