Study of small basin flood forecast using distributed hydrological model

Abstract

In order to explore the adaptability of distributed hydrological models to forecast small watershed floods, This article applies HVB model, TOPMODEL model as well as Xin'anjiang model to establish distributed hydrological models and imitate 50 floods in Fengliang River as the tributary of Hanjiang River respectively. Results show that the flood imitations of such three models achieve good effect with their imitation certainty factor(CF) above 80%, while Xin'anjiang model is superior over the other two counterparts with its imitation certainty factor(CF) above 90% always.
