Dielectric properties and phase transition in cesium tetrachlorozincate Cs2ZnCl4

Abstract

Abstract Dielectric and specific heat measurements of Cs2ZnCl4 single crystals were made in a wide temperature range. The temperature dependence of dielectric constants shows two anomalies at T1=572 and T2=326 K. Specific heat and X-ray intensity of (8 0 0) exhibit also two corresponding anomalies, which are an evidence of structural phase transitions. Ferroelectric hysteresis loop has not been detected yet, but there exist at least two phase transitions.
