A dynamic adaptation for context-aware service-based applications: Disaster management case study

Abstract

The dynamic adaptation of running service-based applications has long been shown to be more than a dream for developers. Recently, several works have been proposed in the literature, where most of them do not have a clear and complete process of such an adaptation. To perform a dynamic adaptation for context-aware service-based applications, we are aiming at presenting in this paper a software architecture based on SCA specification, and implemented with the FraSCAti Platform. This comprehensive solution covers different techniques for handling the impact of context changes onto the running application. In addition, we will propose in this paper, the idea of a reconfigurable disaster management system in order to exhibit how the dynamic adaptation with a context-awareness can serve for disaster management field.
