A novel meander complementary split ring resonator-based RFID chipless tag

Abstract

In this paper, the design of novel RFID chip-less Tag is proposed, allowing the encoding of 4 data bits based on a Meander Complementary Split Ring Resonator. The proposed resonator design operates in the frequency range of 4-7 GHz. The meander Complementary Split Ring Resonator is frequently used in met materials, and it can be applied in the design of antennas and filters. Moreover, it has the advantage of reduced size and its quasi-static resonance allows the tag to be electrically small.
