Abstract

Abstract Cobalt(III) complexes incorporating polydentate Schiff base ligands have been prepared via iodine oxidation of a series of cobalt(II) precursors. Magnetic susceptibility and visible spectral measurements suggest that the materials are diamagnetic cobalt(III) complexes wherein the cobalt ion is in an octahedral or a pseudooctahedral environment.
