Investigation of a thin-film Bragg electrooptic modulator in LiNbO3

Abstract

Calculations are made of the characteristics of thin-film Bragg electrooptic modulators utilizing diffused waveguides in Y-cut LiNbO3. An experimental investigation was made of Bragg modulators. A single-mode LiNbO3:Ti waveguide was used to fabricate a modulator having a control voltage V0 = 5 V and a band width Δ f = 330 MHz.
