On the chemistry of activation of a commercial carbon-supported PtRu electrocatalyst for the methanol oxidation reaction

Abstract

The best activation of a PtRu/C electrocatalyst is to achieve a partition of segregated Pt and Ru ensembles that maximizes Pt–Ru boundaries.
