The 25th Anniversary of the founding of the Mexican Dermatologic Society was the occasion for the institution of the First Mexican Dermatologic Congress. Although this observer has been a regular visitor to our southern neighbor for many years and has been in active contact with his colleagues, he was amazed at the harvest which was produced within the span of only a few years. The sheaves of assiduous and dedicated labor showed not only in the quality of scientific output, but also in the physical features and in the organization. The Congress was held in the brand new Medical Center, a cluster of tall ultramodern buildings which provide everything an organizer of a medical meeting could possibly want, from a main auditorium seating more than 2,000 to a dozen smaller ones, in one of which the Congress was held, with attached registration, conference, meet-the-press, and restaurant facilities.
