Abstract

Graph-theoretic concepts are used to decompose a large control system into a block-triangular interconnection of input reachable subsystems. Stabilization of the system is thereby reduced to stabilization of a number of smaller subsystems. The special structural properties of the obtained subsystems can be exploited to further simplify the stabilization problem.
