Virtual Instrument - no Virtual Reality but Real PC Based Measuring System

Abstract

Real measuring systems based on a host PC, where the PC is used for set-up and control of measurement, data acquisition, data processing and displaying results are usually called virtual instruments (Vis). Particular groups of Vis and their attributes will be described below including several references selected form huge amount of papers concerning virtual instruments. Some examples of virtual instruments designed, realized or applied at CTU-FEE, Dept. of Measurement as well as achieved experience concerning some problems solving will be also mentioned here.
