<title>Optic-electric hybrid parallel pattern recognition system</title>

Abstract

This paper, based on analysis of the mechanism and features (i.e., parallelism, fuzziness, and association) of human pattern recognition as well as various simulation approaches, proposes the scheme of an optic-electric hybrid parallel recognition system (OEHPPRS) for simulating the mechanism of human pattern recognition. THe OEHPPRS is composed of six parts: optical analogue processor, digital image processor, recognizer, knowledge base, optical matcher, and main control program.
