Pre-separation of Siliceous Gangue in Apatite Flotation

Abstract

An alternative process was investigated to separate the siliceous gangue from a Brazilian phosphate ore. Flotation tests were conducted using a benchscale column. The main process variables were studied and optimized through a canonical analysis of the fitted empirical equation. The experimental results indicated that a product was obtained with the necessary concentration for further apatite recovery.
