Morphology and Electrochemical Performance of Amorphous Nickel Hydroxide Added Anion

Abstract

Amorphous nickel hydroxides added anion (PO 4 3- ) has been prepared by chemical precipitation method combined with rapid quench technique. The morphology of the prepared samples were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The effect of anion on the electrochemical performance of the prepared nickel hydroxides were investigated by charge/discharge tests and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The results demonstrated that amorphous nickel hydroxide added PO 4 3- has better electrochemical performance, such as higher discharge potential, better reaction reversibility, higher the charging efficiency, and better cyclic stability, than that of the pure amorphous nickel hydroxide.
