Abstract

Abstract A convenient synthesis of N-alkyl (aryl) N-(α-alkoxybenzyl) and N-(α-alkoxymethylene) carboxamides has been developed, starting from the corresponding amines, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, ortho esters and thionyl chloride.
