Acid-base and sorption properties of amorphous titanium phosphate

Abstract

Acid-base and sorption properties of amorphous titanium phosphate were studied. Three types of functional groups, H2PO 4 − , HPO 4 2− , and OH−, with pK 2.79, 5.13, and 11.2, respectively, were revealed by potentiometric titration. The sorption recovery of double-charged metal cations was studied, and the selectivity series was found: Mg2+ < Ca2+ < Mn2+ < Ni2+ < Zn2+ < Cu2+ < Co2+.
