The Necking of a Tension Specimen in Plane Plastic Flow

Abstract

A linearized version of the equations of plasticity is used to discuss the symmetrical necking of a tension specimen in plane plastic flow. The material is treated as perfectly plastic, and elastic strains are neglected.
