Abstract

In the title compound, C32H36P22+·2Br−·2CDCl3, the diphosphonium ring of the centrosymmetric dication adopts a chair conformation. A network of weak C—H⋯Cl and C—H⋯Br interactions helps to establish the packing. Both bromide ions lie on crystallographic twofold rotation axes.
