A new method of zero calibration of the strapdown inertial navigation system

Abstract

A new method of zero calibration is proposed for fiber-optic gyroscope (FOG) and quartz accelerometer, according to the simplified output model of fiber-optic gyroscope and quartz accelerometer with the error factors of the three-axis turntable are analyzed. The traditional experimental method of zero calibration is to make the measurement axis directly change 180-degree, which introduces the misalignment of the inertial components into the experiment result, and cannot get relatively accurate zero error. This paper puts forward a new measurement method of zero calibration, which can effectively compensate for the impact of misalignment.
