Web-based networked software development environment for programming

Abstract

In this paper, a networked programming environment is proposed, using Web as a man-machine interface. It is seamlessly integrated by Ch computing environment, Web server and some compiler/interpreter. It uses CGI programs as middleware for connecting various software tools. Ch computing environment is a complete C interpreter. As execution engine of C/C++ script, it achieves to run CGI programs. CGI stores and compiles these programs which are from the Web forms, and returns results to the Web browser. The networked programming environment uses HTTP protocol to transport data, and achieves multi-user sharing the environment to debug program. Experimental results show that the simulation environment is feasible, with sharing and platform-independent characteristics.
