Accurate modeling of shorted microstrip patch antennas using the locally conformal FDTD method

Abstract

Abstract An accurate analysis of shorted microstrip patch antennas is presented based on the use of the locally conformal finite‐difference time‐domain (CFDTD) method. This approach enables the positions and dimensions of the probe and the shorting pin to be chosen independently. The calculated result is compared with the measured result, and good agreement is observed. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 30: 216–218, 2001.
