Abstract

A frequency reconfigurable microstrip patch antenna is proposed. Three switches are used to produce six reconfigurable frequencies. Those switches are positioned in the slot places underneath the patch. A reflector is placed behind the antenna. It was found that, at all frequencies, directional radiation patterns are obtained. Simulated results are used to demonstrate the performance of the antenna. The simulated return losses, together with the radiation patterns of the proposed antenna with and without reflector, are presented and compared.
