Abstract

Purpose – In this study, the purpose has been to investigate a novel pathway for the synthesis of high performance diketopyrrolopyrrole pigments (DPPs) using diethyl succinate under microwave irradiation in the presence of ionic liquid (1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [BMIM][BF4]), as a novel medium.
