Polyimide Membranes: Ultra‐Microporous Triptycene‐based Polyimide Membranes for High‐Performance Gas Separation (Adv. Mater. 22/2014)

Abstract

Polymer membranes perform key industrial gas separations. Three-dimensional bridgehead-substituted triptycene moieties integrated into rigid polymer backbones are shown to yield highly permeable and exceptionally sieving membranes, as shown by I. Pinnau and co-workers on page 3688. These transparent, flexible, and robust materials are illustrated in this cover image by O. Kasimova.
